Introductions

Hi! Thanks for checking out my blog! Hopefully that means that you are as interested in getting healthy as I am. As I am starting out on my journey to becoming more healthy & happy, let me tell you a little of my story and how I got to where I am today.

I struggled with weight my whole life. As the youngest of six children, it was never easy being heavier than all my sisters. I remember being teased in elementary about my weight and in high school being held back in my dance aspirations. I knew what I needed to do to get healthy and lose weight - eat better and exercise. I tried so many different diets - Weight Watchers, the no-carb diet, no sugar diet, etc. I even hired a personal trainer to see if exercise would make the weight fall off. Nothing worked. No matter how much I starved myself and how hard I pushed myself at the gym, I never lost weight and kept it off for long.

It wasn't until I was introduced to Take Shape for Life that my life began to improve. I was on the program for 4 months and lost 35 pounds! I had gone from 175 to 140 pounds! I hadn't weighed 140 pounds since junior high. I was so happy with my weight and how I looked and felt. I had more energy than normal. I was fitting in clothes that I had only dreamed of wearing. I looked at myself in pictures and thought - I look good! I had so much confidence, I felt like nothing could hold me back anymore.

With the confidence that I gained, I was able to meet and marry the man of my dreams. We've been married for about a year and a half and we welcomed home our precious baby boy 2 months ago! I'm so grateful for this program and where it has brought me to in my life. I'm so excited to get back to that super confident woman I was a few years ago. And the best part is - I know that I can be that woman again! I know this program works and that it will help me reach my weight loss goals once more.

So here I am - starting out on my weight loss journey. I started on June 14, 2013 at 197.5 pounds. My goal is to weigh 130 pounds. I want to look great in a pair of skinny jeans. I want to look great in a bathing suit next summer (or maybe even by the end of this summer). I want to have the energy and stamina to go hiking with my husband and son. I want to be confident in myself. I want to look in the mirror and love the person staring back at me. And most importantly, I want to  stay that way for the rest of my life.

I'm so excited for this journey to a healthier, happier me! I hope that you will follow me on this journey. And who knows - maybe I'll be able to inspire someone along the way to start a journey of their own.

  1. Kristy! I'm so proud of you! You've inspired me to get back on the band wagon! I miss you and hope you and your lovely family are doing so well! Good luck girly, you're already looking great! :)
